It's that time of the year once again when members of the Truro Rotary Club begin soliciting local businesses for their support towards the Annual Advertising Yearbook.

Since our first publication in 2003, and through the generous support of the business community, the club has consistently grown this fundraising project into a showcase of almost 200 businesses.

We don't want to stop there. We wish to continue to grow this project and ask for everyone's support.

The proceeds raised from this project go directly towards a number of local community based projects including: Colchester Community Workshops, CampTidnish, literacy related projects, bursaries, and the supply of medical equipment to needy individuals within your community.

Message from the President

As current President of the Rotary Club of Truro it is an Honour to welcome everyone to our sixth annual yearbook. This is a substantial part of our needed fundraising commitment of our club.

Thanks to the hard work and direction of Arnold Hagen and his Rotary yearbook team this production has evolved into a wonderful showcase of the people who operate our community businesses and organizations. It also gives you an opportunity to view the wide and varied activities that make our community work. Interestingly enough many of you have utilized our Yearbook as a visual phonebook. It is something you can utilize all year long. Use it often as our subscribers deserve your patronage

But that is not the real reason that we produce this wonderful Yearbook. The real reason is the need to help.

Over the last number of years the Rotary Club of Truro has been able to share where there has been need and as we all know the need is always pressing, and great in our community, our Country and, indeed around the world. It is our responsibility as Rotarians to help to the fullest extent possible and this requires two things. You, who have supported our club for generations and the dogged determination of our members whose creativity in giving assistance and embracing our credo of, "Service above Self" We have made major pledges to our new Hospital, Rotary House, medical assistance, International aid, disadvantaged children and adults, and assistance in crises areas, we have assisted students at risk, the eradication of polio and the list goes on. Our Rotarian network is worldwide and we have been able to help in areas that no other organizations could. However our real strength is the individual Rotarian member of your community.

Again thank you for your generous support in allowing us to do the work that is so necessary in our community. Please enjoy our publication and if you wish to see our clubs in action visit our web site at wwwtrurorotaryclub.ca, and by the way, have you the desire to help? Think of becoming a Rotarian! "The Good Catches Up" you know.
