The Start:
Following the singing of O Canada and the Rotary Grace, Chairperson Steve Gallant introduced himself. He’s been a Rotarian for 11 years. He was born in Toronto but grew up in PEI. He moved to NS with the Royal Bank and is settled in Truro with his wife, Patty and 4 children.
 
Attendance: 62%

Fun Fines: Al fined all those who were not sporting their name tags.

Happy Mug: Many happy Rotarians today included Lydia, Al, Ed, Sharon, Andrew, Audrie-Jo, Kirk, Joanna, Jim Gould andSteve.

50/50 Draw: Wayne Gillis was unable to find the elusive joker.

Secretary’s Report: Jim will have name tags for new members next week. He read an invitation from Big Brothers Big Sisters to participate in a golf tournament on Sept 13th, 2013.

President’s Report: Laurie took a moment to review the activities of the Rotary Club of Truro over the past year. It was an extensive list of activities and assistance to the Colchester community and to developing communities around the world. She asked all members to pat themselves on the back for living the mandate of “service above self”.

Closing remarks: Steve closed with some upcoming event reminders and a great family story that brought a lot of chuckles.
